IH/M&RS associate editor's product award

The 93rd annual International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show that took place Nov.8-11 was my very first trade show. I was able to meet a lot of people and see a lot of new products. But I personally liked one product more than the others and decided to hand out my first Associate Editor's Product Award. This is a very unofficial product award that is in no way affiliated with the actual editor's choice awards at the show.

My pick goes to The Executive from High Definition Golf. It is an indoor golf simulator that is designed for luxury hotels and destinations. I'm a big proponent of hotels offering unique gaming and entertainment amenities to enhance a stay and make a property stand out, and I think this product could be a great addition to any property that has the extra spending money. (Which properties fall under that category nowadays is unclear.)

The Executive also is more than a sharp-looking golf simulator. It has HDMI inputs so it can be used as a movie or TV screen. Golf and TV—that is a winning combo in my book.

For those interested in the actual Editor's Choice product award winners, here's the list:

Decor- LG's Stretch Screen
Green Decor - Cintas' Eco-friendly Suiting Collection
Essentials- HydroClean Toilet Fill Valve
Green Essential- The Sugar Cane Paper Company's Biodegradable Standard Roll Tissue
Luxury- LG's ART COOL Picture
Green Luxury - Valley Forge Fabric's LIVING FRESH bedding collection
Restaurant- Safe Ice Handling System
Green Restaurant- The Sugar Cane Paper Company's Premium Dinner Napkins
Technology- Raycop anti-bacterial handheld vacuum
Green technology- GohBio 1001, a high-speed food waste decomposition system.

For more information on the editor's choice product winners, check out the Dec. 8 issue of Hotel & Motel Management.

The High Definition Golf System is just one of many great golf systems out there for hotels. Most hotels love to offer their clients the ability to
"Stay-And-Play" without having to worry about weather conditions.

Hotels that can't afford the High Definition System have options such as the P3ProSwing System from Par2Pro that costs
about $5000 for a full system and the GolfTek system that costs about $40000. Both systems are extremely accurate, have
incredible graphics and are backed by some of the greatest people in the industry.

These systems also offer the hotels the ability to charge for lessons & swing analysis without large additional costs.
The systems are usually paid for within the first month of use.

If you want to find out more, you are welcome to email me or visit my website www.par2pro.com.

Keep Your Eye on the Ball,
Cory

There was a demo model at the trade show, which is the only place I've seen it. But the system is actually installed in a few luxury properties, basically serving as the main focus of a room.

Despite only having played a few golf games in my life, I loved the golf simulator: it’s a fun and interesting addition for all guests.

The hotel industry is sometimes, so wrongly, portrayed as conservative but anyone who attends events such as IH/MRS and experiences exhibits such as GUESTROOM 20X can see otherwise. The staggering range of near-future and cutting-edge demonstrations show the innovation, and leadership of the hospitality industry.

IH/MRS was great and I really enjoyed the point of reference and glimpse into the future offered by so many exhibitors and attendees. The innovation we've seen shows that the "future" really isn't so far off!
